Automating Emotional and Social Intelligence for Better Outcomes

Formed as a result of a partnership between our parent company Praescripto and IBM Research dating back to 2007, MeaningBot applies Behavioral and Cognitive Science to understand and forecast human potential, behavior, talent and success. We do it with no chance of applicants gaming the system.

Our technology is a first of a kind approach to understanding people. The potential for a great hire or student is not only about experience or grades, it is about attitude, conscientiousness, logic, personal values, and personal, behavioral preferences.

We analyze how people communicate and speak. We apply linguistics, psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, and anthropology to create and leverage our algorithms.

Our goal is to leverage our continually growing platform to have positive, immediate and measurable impact on helping humanity through self-understanding.

Our Platform In Action

The costs of a bad hire are staggering. The costs of turnover are up to 213% of annual salary for highly educated executive positions and it may take a new employee 1-2 years to reach the productivity level of an existing employee. Furthermore, whenever an employee leaves or is let go other employees take time to ask why, negatively impacting the culture. Better recruitment is the first step towards reducing these costs.

Technology advancements in machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision and big data analytics present potential opportunities for a Customer to improve its results with employee recruitment and mitigate the costs of a bad hire.

According to the 2017 Human Capital Trends Report from Deloitte, " Talent sourcing and recruitment face tremendous pressure. Talent and skill shortages are widespread. Employees are demanding new careers and career models. And technologies and innovations—including cognitive, artificial intelligence, social collaboration, crowds, and the sharing economy—are reshaping the workforce. Leading companies are turning the open talent economy into an opportunity by embracing technologies and developing new models that make innovative use of on- and off-balance-sheet talent sources."

The most innovative ideas and solutions are centered around cognitive technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine-to-machine learning, robotic process automation, natural language processing, predictive algorithms, and self-learning. Chatbots are becoming popular.  Meaning Bot is one the forefront of this new and exciting technology.

Our AI can identify candidates that they and the company know are the right fit for company culture and role. This gives rise to the radical change occurring into how AI is combining with human capacity to change the talent equation. We use AI to understand the right variables to match a person to a company and then go beyond that to understand a candidate's logical reasoning, personality, and fit to any company role. In the end, it is all about better company recruitment, employee retention and long-term company success.

COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES USE MEANINGBOT TO ensure that their students are a BETTER fit with far greater odds of gradUATING

"...One-third of all students switch institutions at least once before earning a degree...", according to a 2012 report released by the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center. According to the report, "the "traditional" path of entering and graduating from the same institution is decreasingly followed.  In fact, Students transfer across state lines and institution types, and even "reverse transfer" from four-year to two-year colleges. Transfer rates are similar for full- and part-time students, 32.6 and 33.9 percent, respectively...", the study found, with the most common time for transfer, the report says, is in a student's second year.

We help academic institutions reduce their marketing costs by better targeting students that will thrive in a particular campus setting. We do this by identifying the culture or cultures that exist in the College or University and then identify, match and use our micro-targeted messaging to communicate to students that have the best statistical chance of a better outcome.

According to a May 2017 research study by the Boston Consulting Group, "...personalization is causing a seismic shift across the landscape of consumer-facing brands, and we are only starting to feel the shocks...". The study stated that progressive brands that "...create personalized experiences by integrating advanced digital technologies and proprietary data for customers are seeing revenue increase by 6% to 10%,—two to three times faster than those that don’t."

Meaning Bot helps Marketing and Communications teams to create a "digital dialogue" with Influencers, Customers and others to understand the best way to deliver a product, service or message so as to increase the probability of significantly higher rates of engagement. In a 2016 study, Meaning Bot's team was able to identify an increase from .01% response rate as a result or traditional message to .62% using micro-targeted linguistic synchronous communications protocols developed by MeaningBot and their partners. Our solution also has the ability to expand vocabulary beyond words, using emoji and GIFs as a further collection of emotions. Natural language processing is possibly the hardest area of artificial intelligence to crack and MeaningBot is one the forefront of using NLP to better engage humans through personalization.

bad sales rep.jpg

Recent research by Vantage Point Performance reveals that the cost of poor sales management is huge. In a study of 518 sales managers across a dozen Fortune 500 sales forces, they found that the top 25% of managers achieved an average of 115% of their team’s revenue targets. But the bottom 25% performed at only 76% of their goals.  In other words, low-performing sales managers underachieved their top-performing peers by a whopping 39% in revenue attainment.

To quantify the financial impact of this underperformance, we they observed that the managers had an average of 9.1 salespeople reporting to them. If we assume an annual quota of $1 million for each sales rep, this yields a gap in sales manager performance of $3.5 million per manager. When you consider the total number of sales managers across these organizations, the real opportunity costs of poor sales managers is mind-boggling.

Meaning Bot is working to deliver the first-ever personality-based sales team tool that aligns directly with sales forecasts.  Our solution also has the ability to expand assess the daily performance of sales team members based on their output, personality, management, activities and most importantly their expected revenue targets.
